Graphic Design Manager – Maternity Leave Replacement (9 months)


Status: Full-time, Temporary position | Location: Vaudreuil-Dorion, QC
Report To: Director of Marketing | Service: Marketing

OVERVIEW

As Graphic Design Manager, you’ll be the driving force propelling our talented team to deliver consistent and impactful creative assets across all touchpoints. Reporting to the Director of Marketing, you’ll have the opportunity to work both as an individual contributor and a people leader, defining and executing the strategy for our creative endeavors. As an enthusiastic and hands-on leader, you won’t hesitate to roll up your sleeves and support the team in their creative journey, fostering a collaborative and thriving environment. You’re an effective communicator with a keen eye for detail.

This is an exciting opportunity to shape and drive forward the brand identity of our alloy wheel and accessories brands. As an experienced creative lead, your strategic mindset will play a pivotal role in developing creative assets that align with our marketing objectives, driving our brands to new heights of success. You’ll also be entrusted with upholding the creative guidelines set forth by our partnering original equipment manufacturers, cementing our position as a leader in the market.
 

RESPONSIBILITIES


Creative ideation / execution | 60%
  • Collaborates with Director of Marketing and key agency stakeholders to define the visual identity and brand guidelines for alloy wheel and accessories brands, aligning with strategic marketing objectives.
  • Partners with marketing and studio teams to develop and execute creative concepts for go-to-market and brand campaigns, including photoshoots, video shoots, and digital toolkits for retailers.
  • Contributes towards the growth of Fastco’s growing digital marketing presence by providing strong email, digital and social creative content that fosters engagement.
  • Identifies advertising trends, communicates best practices, and identifies creative opportunities to key internal stakeholders.
  • Supports the development of creative assets including social media graphics, email marketing campaigns, web banners, catalogs, branded promotional materials and corporate materials (letterheads, PowerPoint presentations, email signatures, business cards, HR documents).

Project management | 20%
  • Collaborates with marketing stakeholders to develop workback schedules for key projects, including catalog production.
  • Assigns project briefs to Graphic Designers in project management tool. Provides them with effective feedback on creative projects and ensures that deliverables adhere to brand visual identity guidelines.
  • Delivers final assets to project owners by established deadlines, as outlined in creative project briefs.
  • Issues requests for proposal (RFP) from suppliers and negotiates to obtain competitive pricing for print marketing materials.
  • Leads debrief / retro meetings to identify process improvements at the end of creative projects.

Team leadership | 20%
  • Defines objectives for creative team, communicates them to team members and performs annual performance evaluations.
  • Coaches and mentors Graphic Designers throughout the creative process. Provides ongoing feedback to support learning and development objectives.

ACADEMIC ASPECTS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or a related discipline.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in an in-house corporate marketing environment or creative agency, including a minimum of 2 years in a team leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of design principles and processes.
  • Established portfolio of graphic design work is required for this role.
  • Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and MS Office.
  • Experience with digital photography, color correction and calibration, and photo retouching.
  • Experience creating rich media assets including videos and GIFs is an asset.
  • Experience using SolidWorks Visualize is an asset.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in French and English.
 

CONDITIONS

  • This is a primarily remote role with occasional travel to the Fastco Canada headquarters in Vaudreuil-Dorion, QC.
